Reverend David Majikas, Pastor
Email:  augustine1898@rrbiznet.com

Hello, I am Father David J. Majikas.  I have been at St. Augustine since June 2002 and was installed as pastor in February 2005.  I grew up in Chesterland, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, in the heart of the snowbelt.  I attended public school through fifth grade, when I began to think about being a priest.  I asked my parents to switch me to St. Anselm Catholic School.  After eighth grade, I attended Walsh Jesuit High School, graduated in 1988, and went on to Borromeo Seminary College.  My class at Borromeo was the first to receive its degree from John Carroll University.  After I graduated from Borromeo Seminary/John Carrol in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, I went on to St. Mary Seminary Graduate School of Theology.  I graduated from St. Mary Seminary with a Masters of Divinity and I was ordained to the priesthood on May 31, 1997.  My first assignment was at St. Joan of Arc in Chagrin Falls.  I served there for five years.  I am looking forward to serving you in many ways in the coming years.  Some of my hobbies are reading, fishing, hiking, golf, biking, gardening, and watching sports.

Reverend William Smith, Parochial Vicar

Born February 2, 1995 in Cleveland.  The third of six children of William and Anna Smith.  Graduate of the Cleveland public school system in 1972.  Prior to being ordained a priest in 2003, I attend school and worked in the medical field for 31 years as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, Registered Nurse, and a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.  My assignments as a priest include St. Monica Catholic Church in Garfield Heights, St. John Bosco in Parma Heights, and at St. Augustine in June 2011 by Bishop Richard Lennon.

I am currently in my third year as principal of St. Augustine School, but I started my teaching career in 1988 at Immaculate Conception School.  I have a Bachelor of Arts degree as well as a Master of Arts degree from The University of Akron.  My husband and I have two cats, Sam and Isabel, and two daughter.  Rebecca, a 2005 graduate of St. Augustine School, is a junior at The University of Akron majoring in organizational communications and an active member of her sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta.  Christina is currently an eighth grader at St. Augustine School.  What I love about St. Augustine School are the wonderful families and excellent teachers.  Plus, every day is a new adventure!

Mrs. Renee Barker, Director of Religious Education
Email:  renee.barker@staugschool.net

I have been married to my wonderful husband Greg since 1982.  I have two wonderful children, Christopher and Becky, both of whom have graduated from St. Augustine School and have attended Catholic high school, and then onto college.

I not only handle religion, but I am also the virtus administrator, head of the stewardship committee, and a youth minister.  I also facilitate a program during the summer called "Living your Strengths", and through the school year I facilitate a program called "Rainbows for Children" that helps kids deal with divorce, death, deployment, or imprisionment of a parent.

I am working toward my masters in both clinical mental health counseling and school counseling.  I feel that this will help me do my job here at St. Augustine.

In my spare time, I love to scrapbook, make cards, cross stitch and quilt, but most importantly, spend time with my family.  My favorite scripture verse is Phil 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Mrs. Michele Contos - Office Coordinator/Tuition
Email:  michele.contos@staugschool.net

I have been the school secretary at St. Augustine for the past 6 years.  I feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to serve the parents, students, and staff here at St. Augustine.  Because I am in charge of a wide-range of duties, anything from delivering gym bags, caring for sick children, to updating the school website, and processing tuition, every day is new and interesting!

I have been married to my husband, Steve, for 16 years.  We have two sons, Hunter (13 years), and Nicholas (9 years), both who attend St. Augustine School.

In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family, watching my boys' sporting events, listening to music, and playing tennis.
