Step Up To Quality-2 Star Rated

Step Up To Quality is a partnership between Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.  It is a voluntary rating system to help parents select preschools for their children’s early care and education.  Participating preschools can earn a one, two or three star rating by meeting an extensive list of quality benchmarks.  Experts believe meeting these benchmarks improve the growth and development potential of children.

Our preschool was the first center in Summit County to earn a one star rating.

Compare our Preschool to area preschools by visiting www.jfs.ohio.gov/cdc/page3.stm.  All inspections are available for you to review.

Creative Curriculum

By the time your child enters kindergarten his/her brain is 85% developed.  It is critical to your child’s future success to have developmentally appropriate and intentionally planned learning experiences.  Research shows that the number of words a child enters kindergarten with is the greatest predictor of school success.  We have always provided a strong learning environment at St. Augustine Preschool.  The Creative Curriculum rests on a firm foundation of research and responds to new requirements for addressing academic content.   The curriculum is aligned with The Ohio Department of Education’s Early Learning Content Standards.   The curriculum clearly defines the vital role of the teacher in connecting content, teaching and learning for preschool children.  Most valued and successful learning is from intentional learning play experiences guided by the teacher.

Classes and Tours

St. Augustine Preschool offers classes Monday through Friday 6:30 am—6:00 pm.  You may register for a full week (4 or 5 days) and part week (2-3 days). We serve children 18 months through 12 years.  Classes are offered all year including the summer.
During the school year a morning preschool class is offered for children ages 4 and 5.  The class starts at 7:45am and ends at 11:30am.  You may register for a full week (4 or 5 days) and part week (2-3 days).  If you would like more information call the Preschool office.  You may also contact the Preschool office to schedule a tour.

Financial Aid

Financial aid is available through Summit County Job and Family Services in the form of the Title XX Program.

Title XX is a program to help with child care expenses while you are working or going to school.  You may be eligible if your family meets the income guidelines.

The Preschool Director can assist you with the application process for the Title XX program.
