Serving Others, One Sandwich at a Time

This Thanksgiving season, St. Augustine staff spent time reflecting on how we care for our students through both academic enrichment and acts of service. In that spirit, our team made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for Harvest Home in Akron, an organization that provides meals, shelter, and compassionate support for women and children experiencing homelessness. Harvest Home served over 130,000 meals last year, and we are grateful to contribute to their mission.

Art in Focus: Pop Art Meets the Classics

Art class has truly come alive this fall under the creative direction of Ms. Wasko. Inspired by the bold, comic-style designs of Roy Lichtenstein and the classic still life paintings of Paul Cézanne, students created colorful, eye-catching apple-themed artwork that now brightens our hallways. These projects encouraged students to think like artists, experiment with new styles, and express their ideas in bold and imaginative ways. Building a Culture of Joy Through Reading

At St. Augustine, we celebrate reading as both a foundational skill and a source of lifelong joy. Mrs. Howski recently shared a few of her all-time favorite book recommendations, including The Velveteen Rabbit and The Chronicles of Narnia series. These classic stories help spark imagination, encourage meaningful reflection, and inspire rich discussions in the classroom and at home. Our culture of literacy continues to grow through read-alouds, library time, and engaging classroom libraries across grade levels.
